To and from the Airports in Moscow

Moscow has no less than five commercial airports. The more common for foreign visitors are Sheremetyevo International Airport situated 29km northwest of Moscow. It has very poor transportation from the terminals into the city. There is no train service from Sheremetyevo and buses leave from the airport parking lot to metro stations downtown. The cost of the bus is cheaper than a taxi, but it takes longer and the service won't go direct to your hotel. Try in advance to get your hotel to provide airport transfer service. Expect journey time to be anything from 30 mins to 2 hours.

Moscow Domodedovo International airport is situated 32km south of Moscow. There are trains (Aeroexpress) running every 30-60 minutes from 6am to 11pm to the airport, and from 7am to 12am (midnight) to the city (Paveletsky Rail Terminal, in downtown Moscow), the ride lasts 40 minutes and costs about 150 rubles.
